Steve was born and raised in the Kelowna-Mission area. He is a graduate of Kelowna Secondary school, where he was Student of the Year: Combined Academics and Athletics.
After high-school, Steve received his Bachelor of Science from University of Victoria, majoring in Geography and Resource Management. Steve has a great love for sports and played on the Canadian National Rugby Team.
Steve is a husband, father and grandfather. He is married to Brenda, has three children and is the grandfather of five.
